Terry Gardner is a contemporary Western artist who moved to Colorado in the early 90's. Intrigued by the West as a child, he paints landscapes and subjects unique to the region. In this video Gardner discusses his methods and influences. His use of color and tone convey the story of a deeper connection that he's trying to express to the viewer. Through his work Gardner tells stories of the American West that are important and still relevant in today's fabric of the region. Stories that are unique to the world.

Terry Gardner "OPHIR"

Artist Terry Gardner discusses his work "Ophir," named after the historic mining town in the San Juan Mountains, near Colorado. Ophir is also a port or region mentioned in the Bible, famous for its wealth. In his painting Gardner captures the state of an abandoned building, alluding to the mining town's past.
